Granite Gear Long Howl Dog Pack

The Long Howl is for the serious hiking dog. The padded harness wraps entirely around the dog’s torso, to avoid any webbing chafing the dog’s skin. The fit is adjustable and secure, so the pack bags that attach to the harness ride stable without much twisting. As you take reasonable care, the lopsided carry of lesser dog packs is a thing of the past. The inside layer is stretch woven nylon, the same stuff we use on the skin side of our award winning human packs, for a wrinkle free, smooth surface. The harness can be left on and saddlebags removed for hiking breaks. The harness can also double as a windbreaker and provide insulation for the dog’s core in cold conditions.
The pack bags feature a water-resistant zipper that eliminates the need for a zipper flap, which always seem to get snagged. The pack bags and harness are shaped so as not to interfere with the dog’s natural gait and movements. Our shop dog, Sydney, can even execute airborne catches when we toss our Flyer while she’s wearing the pack.
