gtg spec mission patrol pack

i will say that this is a well made pack that is for sure high speed low drag. however, in my opinion there are several things about the design of the pack that i do not like. the workmanship and materials are top quality. there is plenty of padding in the straps and back. i humped 50 lbs 10mi w/ out any fatigue. the adjustable frame and shoulder straps again are great. these features alone make this the best pack i've humped with. plenty of space and a sack for a radio, as well as a padded laptop compartment. great for hauling your crap into a fob. as i mentioned earlier, you can throw a bunch of stuff in this pack and make a 25 MI hump and this pack will do it and you won't feel beat up when it's over because of it's features. however....this pack has obviously been designed as a bona fide field pack. you cannot "fillet" the pack open to load and unload it. the zippers (high quality) stop about 3 inches from the bottom and won't let you unzip the pack completely open. the padded outer compartment for laptop is semi rigid and also prohibits such activity. so, if you need a pack that you can simply stuff your crap into vertically then you are good to go. if you are planning on using this pack as a knockaround take your stuff to work or an out of town weekend pack, not such a good idea. the shoulder straps are mounted directly to the frame with no ability to mount directly to the pack. you can remove the padded waistbelt (awesome) and the extra padding on the shoulder strap. you cannot however remove the frame or back pad if such circumstances warrant. your not gonna cram this thing into an overhead bin or the frontseat of your ride. this thing was designed as a bonafide goin to the field rucksack. so keep that in mind before you buy. the price is awesome for quality of pack

Awesome pack! I have lower back problems and was looking for a new pack with a comfy hip belt, loads of MOLLE loops and interior features to replace an old pack without them. With loads of gear in it, it rides real nice and hugs my back with the belt cinched! It also looks real cool and the construction is more than what I expected unlike a lot of other commercially produced packs in that size. The zippers and materials are SOLID. I already received quite a few compliments. I also received great help over the phone with Extreme Outfitters in trying to figure out the features and size difference between this and the similar but smaller pack. Thanks guys!

Great pack

This pack is just what I was looking for. The interna frame keeps it steady on my back with any kind of load and it rides high so the bottom rests on the small of my back and sits well. The first time I used it I carried thirty-five pounds on a sixteen mile trail in four hours and had no major discomfort. I use it with a fifty pound load and if feels as comfotable as that can be. I've been able to transfer all of my external gear from a previous back with no trouble and I look forward to using this pack for a long time. It's a bit heavy by itself but if you want a rugged pack it's worth it. Very pleased with this. I just wish I had it thirty-two years ago when I was humping around with my ALICE equipment.

It's definetly durable, well designed, and comfortable even with armour on. Drawbacks are: there isn't a designated pocket for bladders; it's weighs a good amount on its own; and material is too rigid to fit odd shaped objects.
