We took the same technology and reliability of the Fuel MPLS and enhanced it by substituting a red LED for one of the white Ultrabright LEDs. The red LED is imperative to keeping night vision intact, yet the 3 remaining Ultrabright LEDs still provide superb area lighting, once again adding another versatile feature to the MPLS line of headlamps.

Stick with regular, not MPLS ver

The light keeps coming off from the base! The quick detach design doesn't really work well, as the rip holding the light housing to the base is really weak. It's a shame for $49 light. I was so happy to get rid of Petzl (French) light, and buy American. Just on defense for Princeton, the regular FRED is good light, far better improvement over Petzl Tactikka, good lighting source and seems run stronger. I just think MPLS (or maybe its just mine) has issue. Hope they will fix the design, becasuse it's good concept and only light that works with my Ops Core.
