The Scorpion by Ridge has served me well as an all around warm weather boot. From the swamps of Floida, U.S. to the low and highland jungles of Central and South America. Not only does it provide the protection and stability of a well made boot, but it dries rapidly which is so important in the wet lands. I also wear them as I snorkel the volcanic shore lines of Central America to protect my feet from damage. Another plus is there is no need to remove them at river crossings, due to the fact they dry so fast. I wear them with a basic white cotton sock. As a past trench foot sufferer I don't play around when it comes to boots. Final note, for some reason the green boots fit best over the tan. but the tan boot doubles as casual footwear with a pair of khaki pants. The only negative is after 1 1/2 to 2 years of abuse the sole which still has many miles to go seperates at the great toe region. Keep up the good work I am on my forth pair. J. Taft,Fla. U.S.
